There’s no question that the meteoric rise of digital marketing and advertising over the past 20 years has been driven by disruptive technologies.  But given the complex, nuanced nature of native placement, content marketing and even advanced programmatic deals, the success of the next decade will depend on the quality of the people we find, hire, manage and retain.  The June 2016 Seller Forum – “Power to the People” – refocuses us on the human aspects of the businesses we manage.

Andrew Markowitz speaker at Seller ForumAndrew Markowitz

GM Performance Marketing Labs, GE

Andrew Markowitz is General Manager of GE’s Performance Marketing Labs which focuses on driving next gen marketing opportunities that enhance brand recognition and commercial acceleration.  Markowitz and his team have led this new venture by emphasizing emerging channels and platforms.  Among the areas of focus the group drives are strategy, lead gen, channel disruption, insights and analytics, content, social media and customer engagement.

Prior to GE, Markowitz worked at Kraft Foods as Director, Digital Services, leading a COE for all Digital activity, and at Send.com (the on-line gift company ), Dentsu Corp., Ammirati & Puris, and Lintas.  An Indiana University graduate, he currently lives in NY with his wife and 2 children.

Jay Altschuler

VP, Media & Partnerships Samsung Electronics America

As VP of Media and Partnerships, Jay oversees the strategic vision for brand engagement that brings to life Samsung’s own brand promise of improving people’s lives through its products and signature services. Jay has a diverse media background, from traditional to digital, with many established companies as well as start-ups with big company aspirations.

Before joining Samsung, Jay was most recently the Director of Global Media at Unilever leading overall strategy, mobile excellence, and digital partnerships. Prior to Unilever, he cut his teeth on the agency side at Starcom, PHD and at internet start-up company AGENCY.COM.

After spending the last six years in the UK, he and his wife now reside in the suburbs of New York.

 

Wenda Harris Millard

President and COO, MediaLink

Wenda Harris Millard is President and COO of MediaLink, a leading strategic advisory and business development firm that provides critical counsel and direction to the media, advertising and entertainment industries and to companies and investors that interact with those sectors.

Before joining MediaLink, Millard was Co-CEO and President, Media for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc.

In 2015, Millard was named a MAKER in AOL’s Makers: Women Who Make America series created by Gloria Steinem and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Dyllan McGee.

She serves on the Board of the Advertising Research Foundation and has served on the Boards of the Advertising Council, the American Advertising Federation, the Advertising Education Foundation and others. Currently, Millard serves on the boards of Verifone Inc., Millenial Media and Simulmedia. She also sits on the board of the James Beard Foundation.

Clay Gran


Founder, SellerCrowd

Clay created SellerCrowd, a community of 20k media salespeople.

SellerCrowd helps its members keep up with the latest agency and brand news, as well as connect with employers through its hiring marketplace. Clay got his start in the ad sales world at ShortTail Media, and was previously a venture investor at General Catalyst Partners.


 

Ashley Pelliccione

Director of People, Namely

Ashley Pelliccione is Director of People at Namely, the leading HR, payroll, and benefits software platform for growing companies.

Prior to joining Namely in March 2015, Ashley has 10 years of experience in Human Resources from companies like Turn, QBE the Americas, and China Merchants Bank.

She grew up in Pennsylvania and currently lives in Jersey City, NJ with her husband.

Ashley is a frequent speaker and commentator on recruitment, talent management and the unique challenges facing the modern workplace.

Evan Adlman

Head of Programmatic, Condé Nast

Evan Adlman is the Head of Programmatic at Condé Nast where he is responsible for the company’s Programmatic Sales & Strategy across all 21 brands. Before joining Condé Nast, Adlman was the VP Publisher Development for the Americas at PubMatic where he oversaw the company’s publisher business. He was instrumental in building their publisher business and providing clients with strategies as they implement their programmatic offerings.

Adlman also served as a founding employee and vice president of strategic development and publisher sales at Pontiflex, where he led all business development and publisher sales for the leading email transaction platform. Previously, he was vice president of business operations and sales at Return Path. Additionally, Adlman founded Park Avenue Media, a direct marketing company that focused on email, telephone and mailing lists for large brands such as eFax, WebEx, and Placeware.

 

Jeremy Hlavacek

Vice President, Global Automated Monetization
The Weather Company

As vice president, global automated monetization, Jeremy Hlavacek oversees all programmatic sales and monetization efforts globally as well as Weather’s SMB channel, which works with local and mid-market advertisers via automated platforms.

Previously, Hlavacek was the vice president, programmatic where he oversaw all of Weather’s domestic programmatic sales efforts, platform relationships and programmatic operations. Hlavacek joined Weather in early 2013 as vice president of operations and strategic partnerships for the company’s WeatherFX division.

Prior to Weather, Hlavacek was vice president of strategy and business operations at Varick Media Management.  His career includes LEGO Toys, Dotmenu, and CBS Television. On the agency side, strategic roles at Ogilvy and Cadient Group in the area of healthcare, financial services and technology.

Charles “Chip” Schenck

VP/Programmatic & Audience Solutions

Chip Schenck is the VP of Programmatic & Audience Solutions at Meredith Corporation and responsible for leveraging data, insights and ad technology to build successful client solutions across Meredith’s Digital Network, which reaches over 75 million unique monthly visitors.

Schenck joined Meredith Digital from Pubmatic where he served as VP/Publisher Development. His background also includes serving as GM/Strategic Publisher Accounts for Krux Digital, a global leader in publisher focused data management platform products and services.

In addition, Schenck has held senior leadership positions with a diverse range of media companies including serving as VP/Integrated Sales & Development for American Express Publishing; Associate Publisher for In Touch Weekly; and Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for Hearst-Stratosfera.

Schenck resides with his family in Stamford, Connecticut.
