CRO of Mashable
Ed Wise is the CRO of Mashable. Recently, he served as manager of Partnerships for Pinterest, and a member of the company’s sales leadership team. Prior to joining Pinterest, Ed was senior vice president, managing director of branded content for Turner Broadcasting Ad Sales. In this specialized role he was charged with facilitating branded content partnerships with clients utilizing Turner production capabilities and talent to maximize campaigns spanning the Turner portfolio, while also driving sales around the company’s leading comedy brand, Funny or Die and all of Turner’s Digital Entertainment properties where he headed their sales and strategy while playing point on their digital Upfront.
Ed joined Turner Digital Ad Sales in September 2012 through a partnership between Funny Or Die and Turner that gave Turner an equity stake in the comedy site and established Turner as the marketplace representative for Funny Or Die advertising opportunities. Ed and his team collaborated closely with ad sales and marketing groups within Turner Ad Sales to execute branded entertainment solutions across the portfolio. Previously, as vice president of advertising sales for Funny Or Die, he played a key role in building the premiere comedy brand with market-leading content across all media. Leveraging over 17 years of interactive marketing experience, he was instrumental in Funny Or Die’s branded entertainment division, leading sales and strategy. Prior to joining Funny Or Die, Wise spent seven years at CBS Interactive as a key contributor to the company’s integrated approach and growth.
Ed is actively involved in professional organizations across the industry, notably on the advisory boards of the Upstream Seller Forum, iMedia, mParticle, Cue Digital, DidIt and Fade. He serves as vice-president for 212 and as chairman emeritus of the Syracuse Newhouse Network, recently names to the Newhouse 50 Forward http://50forward.syr.edu/honorees/ .He also served for many years as executive vice president of the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association (CIMA).
